York Viking Walk
In the York Viking Walk, guests see where the Vikings first took York in 866 in a bloody city centre battle and walk down the streets where the Vikings lived and worked. They will also hear about the infamous Eric Bloodaxe, the last Viking King of York. The Walk concludes with the events leading to the end of the Viking age in 1066 when the Vikings fought their final battles at Fulford and Stamford Bridge.
The aim of the Walk is to allow guests to imagine what being a Viking in York would have been like in the 10th century. The Walk starts at 6pm every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night and lasts about an hour.

It costs £4 for adults and £2.50 for children and seniors.
The Walk starts opposite Marks & Spencer on Parliament Street, beside All Saints Church - look out for the advertising boards. The host (Simon) is also author of the bestselling children's books The Last Vikings and The Return of Sigurd the Dragon Slayer.
