Located on  Goodramgate is this fantastic upstairs Thai restaurant within York’s city walls, the entrance being a flight of stairs.

It specialises in authentic Thai food and is  furnished  with genuine Thai artefacts and pictures, the bamboo clad walls, along with the table decorations, straw place mats and ceiling fans create an authentically exotic feel to the restaurant.

 

Waiters in traditional dress serve the food and it is top notch , well presented, and even the salad is garnished with Orchids. Fish cakes, Green Curries, Golden Bags and Noodles are all popular and tantalising and there is plenty for the vegetarian to choose from.

Siam House offers an express lunch time menu but attracts most of its customers in the evening.  lunch is  available from 12-2pm.

Due to the restaurant’s emence popularity it is advised to book a table in advance, especially on a Friday and Saturday night.

Kind of disappointed considering the online reviews. We love thai, but were disappointed here. Asked for extra hot, got extra bland without interesting flavours to speak of. Considering portions and quality, not such a great value either, I doubt we'll eat here again.

The food is so good that we cancelled our next nights booking and went back here!
Would love it if they would move their restaurant to Scotland!
