York Pullman is a name synonymous with travel in York. The company
was first established in 1926 when garage owner Norman Pearce started
a service between York and Stamford Bridge.
The company grew
from its base in Piccadilly before moving to Bootham Tower in 1951.
By the mid -1970s York Pullman carried about a million passengers
every year, offering not only service buses but day excursions and
overnight stays. Fortunes changed though in the early 1990s and the
name and fleet disappeared into the annals of history.
After a
break of more than a decade, the York Pullman brand has been
resurrected and is once again offering residents and visitors to the
city a real service of distinction.
