Trevor Rooney was the first person to start the costumed guided spooky walks in York This walk offers something completely different because you guide is a born natural storyteller who not only believes in the things that go bump in the night. This man is a resident who knows all the history and it’s hidden secrets.
When you arrive outside the Evil Eye in Stonegate at 7.30 you’re going to recognise your guide wearing a hat decorated in Ostridge feathers. His costume denotes something of the 16th to the 17th century.
The walk winds it’s way through the quaint streets, alleyways and historic backdrops befitting to the ghostly history.
On most occasions you finally end at York’s most haunted pub The Black Swan where you can enjoy having a chat with your guide.
Every night this ghost walk is different, stories are not tape recorder style, Trevor Rooney can change like the wind, is very humorous, witty, and can tell tales like you would never imagine!
The ghost walk of York has been featured on national Tv shows, on The radio and the national press.
