Although the idea originated in New Zealand, Gourmet Burger kitchen started off in London and is expanding north, with new branches in Leeds and Manchester as well as here in York. It lays somewhere between a bistro and restaurant and serves a variety, in fact 32 different burger options.

It offers a vast, wide-ranging array of mouth-watering and extravagant burger concoctions, from Aberdeen Angus beef options; five chicken; five vegetarian; five house specialties; and three junior dishes. On top of that, there are four salad dishes available. The ambiance is great and you can call in for a quick lunch or while away an hour or so at your leasure. It is located on Lendal close to the Museum gardens and the Minster.
