Located on Fossgate, Harvilles is a relaxed Art Deco influenced steak and fish restaurant.  with lovely dining facilities and an Oyster Cellar Bar with fresh fish counter and saltwater tank. The Oyster Cellar has a large selection of Champagne. A delightful place to meet friends and have a drink or enjoy the freshest seafood, with specials changing daily on the blackboards. Beers and Guinness also on tap.

Went to Harville's on the eve of my 30th birthday! And have to say it was excellent, the food was gorgeous and the staff were so friendly. Couldn't find fault with it at all. Easily the best meal we had out in York. Particularly nice touch was the candle in my chocolate mousse!

I was really dissapointed with our visit to Harvilles. They got our orders wrong. Under cooked the meat. The atmosphere was dead! Avoid..

Took my wife and daughter to lunch and we all enjoyed perfectly cooked, wonderfully presented, reasonably priced food and unfussy but attentive service. Simply one of the most surprising, interesting and pleasant dining experiences in York.

This was our first visit for lunch today. It lived up to our expectations very well indeed. We were greeted warmly by a young man as we walked in, which is always a good start. The food, service and atmosphere were perfect and we will spread the word about this great find to family and friends.
